Introduction

TandemVu is Hikvision’s dual-lens camera technology that combines a wide-angle overview lens with a detailed close-up or PTZ lens in a single housing. This eliminates the traditional trade-off between situational awareness and detailed identification—you get both simultaneously.

How TandemVu Works

The camera contains two independent imaging channels: a fixed wide-angle channel that monitors the entire scene continuously, and a PTZ or varifocal channel that can zoom into specific areas of interest. Both channels record simultaneously to the NVR.

Practical Benefits

In a car park, the wide channel covers the entire lot while the PTZ channel auto-tracks a suspicious person and captures facial detail. In a warehouse, the overview shows the full floor while the detail channel reads labels on pallets being loaded. One camera does the job of two.

Linked Tracking

When AcuSense detects a person or vehicle in the wide channel, it can automatically direct the PTZ channel to zoom in and follow the target. This intelligent linking means you never miss an event in the overview while simultaneously capturing close-up evidence.
