Introduction

Smart Hybrid Light is Hikvision’s adaptive illumination technology that combines IR and warm white LEDs in the same camera. The camera automatically switches between invisible IR and visible white light based on the scene, providing the best of both worlds without manual configuration.

How It Works

In normal conditions, the camera uses IR illumination for covert, low-profile monitoring. When AcuSense detects a person or vehicle intrusion, the camera instantly switches to warm white LEDs—illuminating the scene for colour evidence capture and serving as a visual deterrent to the intruder.

You no longer need to choose between covert IR and visible ColorVu at installation time. Smart Hybrid Light adapts in real time: invisible when nothing is happening, bright and colour-rich when it matters. This reduces light pollution during quiet hours while maximising evidence quality during events.
